Do the Khawarij accept the repentance of one who has committed a major sin, or do they deem him an infidel because of it?

The repentance of a perpetrator of a major sin is accepted by all Muslim sects. Disagreement arose regarding one who dies without repenting. The Mu'tazilah and the Khawarij believe that if the perpetrator of a major sin does not repent, he will abide eternally in Hell. The Khawarij believe that every sin is considered disbelief, leading one out of faith into disbelief, and its perpetrator will abide eternally in Hell. The Mu'tazilah, on the other hand, believe that he exits faith but does not enter into disbelief; rather, he is in an intermediate state between the two, yet he will abide eternally in Hell.
