What is the ruling on making a sound with one's feet while running to catch up with the rak'ah, with the intention of drawing the imam's attention, and is it incumbent upon the imam to advise those who do so, and did this occur during the time of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?

It is disliked to run and rush excessively to prayer, as it contradicts tranquility and dignity, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "When the prayer is established, do not come to it rushing. Rather, come to it walking, and upon you be tranquility. So, whatever you catch, pray, and whatever you miss, complete." This dislike increases with the production of sounds, as it causes disturbance. The Imam should advise the worshipers to observe dignity and proper conduct when coming to prayer, and he should point out errors without defamation. Such an incident occurred during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, as mentioned in the hadith (definition) of Abu Qatadah.
