Which is better: donating to orphans or building a mosque?

Sponsoring an orphan and building a mosque are two acts of worship with immense reward. The preference between them is determined by the urgency of the need. If an orphan is in dire need of assistance, then sponsoring them carries a greater reward. However, if the orphan is not in severe need, and there is a neighborhood that urgently requires a mosque, and you are the only one who can build it, then donating to the mosque is better.
