Is it permissible to shorten prayers on Thursdays and Fridays while at home, knowing that the workplace is many times the distance of [allowing] qasr, and is it obligatory to pray in full (itmaam) upon leaving the city of work and heading home as Asr prayer time begins?

Whoever travels a distance that allows for qaṣr (shortening prayers), which is approximately 83 kilometers or more, and their journey is permissible, it is legislated for them to shorten the prayers. If they arrive at a place where they intend to stay for four days or more, then shortening the prayers is not legislated for them, according to the majority of scholars, and they are considered a resident. The ruling of travel ceases immediately upon returning to one's original homeland. Based on this, it is not permissible to shorten the prayers on Thursday and Friday; rather, they must be performed in full. As for the return journey home, it is permissible to shorten the prayers, and the shortening ends upon the traveler's arrival at their homeland or a country where they have a wife with whom they have consummated the marriage.
