What is the meaning of "Al-Kashf" (unveiling/disclosure) through which a righteous man comes to know that his prayer is not accepted, and is it possible for every righteous man, and what is the ruling on praying behind an Imam who believes in it?

Unseen matters can be known through legitimate means (such as revealed books, inspiration, and true dreams) or through satanic means (such as magic, divination, and satanic dreams).

Kashf (unveiling) is the accessing of the unseen. Whoever accesses it through legitimate means is not at fault. But whoever accesses it through satanic means may fall into sin or disbelief.

Sufi kashf claims to lift veils before the Sufi to know what is in the heavens and the earth. This is a belief that is not permissible, because it claims absolute knowledge of the unseen, which is exclusive to Allah Almighty. As for Sufi kashf that contains both truth and falsehood, it is not accepted unless the truth is distinguished from it and accepted, and falsehood is rejected.

The truth can be distinguished from falsehood in kashf by the state of the claimant (righteous or misguided) and by the content of the kashf (whether it conforms to the Quran and Sunnah or contradicts them).

The claim of a kashf claimant that a man's prayer is not accepted because of a sin committed by his mother is unacceptable, because it contradicts the Almighty's saying: "And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another."

The destiny of parents, whether to Paradise or Hell, is not known except by information from Allah and His Messenger. As for what occurs in the heart concerning this, it is mere conjecture that cannot be asserted with certainty, and it is not obligatory to believe it.

If the imam claims absolute knowledge of the unseen, or attributes it to other than Allah, or seeks assistance from devils, then it is not permissible to pray behind him, because he is a disbeliever. However, if it is merely illusions, then he should be abandoned and prayer behind him should be avoided if possible.
