What is your advice for me as a university student who started her university life in engineering, then sciences, then biology, and feels mentally scattered, distant from religion, and influenced by Western cultures? Is it correct to continue studying or not? And what is the ruling on learning the English language, which has begun to overwhelm our language and identity?

Mixed-gender study between young men and women is forbidden by Islamic law due to the grave corruptions it entails for religion and morals. Scholars, such as Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Baz and Sheikh Muhammad bin Salih Al-Uthaymeen, have issued fatwas prohibiting working or studying in mixed-gender environments because of the strife and violations of Islamic law they cause. They emphasized that obedience to parents is not permissible if it conflicts with obedience to Allah and His Messenger, and that if a woman cannot find a study environment free from mixing, then staying at home is better for her, given the abundance of Allah's provision.
