What is modesty (al-hayaa')? And how can it be acquired and practiced? And what is the way to please one's mother and demonstrate the possession of modesty? And what are the ways to control oneself and anger, and to adhere to acts of worship?

May Allah reward you for your eagerness to please your parents. In the Hadith, it is stated: "The pleasure of the Lord is in the pleasure of the parent, and the displeasure of the Lord is in the displeasure of the parent." Modesty can be acquired by reading texts that highlight its virtues, studying the biography of the Prophet (peace be upon him), learning about the lives of the righteous predecessors, keeping company with righteous women, striving for beneficial knowledge, attending gatherings of goodness, and communicating with your mother to understand what she truly means by describing you as immodest.
