Is it obligatory to leave a place that contains a stolen item which cannot be returned to its owner and is not being used by the thief, knowing that leaving the place is difficult due to the abundance of evils within it?

It is clear that the questioner is suffering from obsessive doubts (waswasah). The presence of stolen goods does not make it unlawful to sit in a place; the reprehensible act is the theft itself. Scholars have mentioned that it is not unlawful to sit in places that contain forbidden images, and the madhhab does not prohibit that. The command to leave a place of reprehensible acts is conditional upon one's ability and obedience. If one is unable to do so, or if it causes him unusual hardship, there is no blame upon him for remaining.
