Is it permissible not to execute the legally binding will and to distribute the inheritance instead, and should I prioritize Islamic law over taking the money from the will?

The execution of the deceased's will is obligatory within one-third of his wealth, and its non-execution is a sin, based on the Almighty's saying: "Then whoever alters it after he has heard it – the sin is only upon those who alter it." The will is disbursed from the estate before its division, based on the Almighty's saying: "after any bequest has been made or debt paid." The division of inheritance is among the limits set by Allah, and obedience to Allah and His Messenger in this matter leads to gardens [of Paradise], while disobedience leads to Hellfire, based on the Almighty's saying: "These are the limits [set by] Allah. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger will be admitted by Him to gardens... But whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits – He will admit him to Fire."
