What is the comprehensive book on the stories of the prophets, what is it called, and who is its author?
The Holy Qur’an and the of the Prophet have given attention to the stories of the prophets for lessons and admonition. Therefore, one should refer to them, while also utilizing reliable books of (exegesis) such as Ibn Jarir al-Tabari and Ibn Kathir, and reliable commentaries on the Sunnah such as Fath al-Bari and al-Nawawi’s شرح مسلم (Sharh Muslim). Among the comprehensive and beneficial books are "Qasas al-Anbiya'" (Stories of the Prophets) by Ibn Kathir and "Qasas al-Nabiyyin" (Stories of the Prophets) by Abu al- al-Nadawi. One must be cautious of books that rely on fabricated hadiths, superstitions, Isra'iliyyat (stories of Jewish origin), or contain disparagement of the prophets.
