Is it permissible to engage in anal intercourse with one's wife?

If a man has intercourse with his wife anally, he has committed a major sin, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Accursed is he who has intercourse with a woman in her anus." He must repent and seek forgiveness, but his wife does not become unlawful to him.
