What is the ruling on following and reading books by an atheist Jewish writer, knowing that the follower only reads and listens to the political content from his works and interviews, and does not follow or believe in his other ideas?
The ruling on reading or listening to non-Muslims varies according to the reader's condition and what is being read. If one is capable of distinguishing right from wrong and knowing what is beneficial from what is harmful, then there is no objection to it if it is for a legitimate purpose and a -compliant interest, such as understanding the state of enemies, inviting them to the truth, and benefiting from them in useful knowledge. However, for someone who is feared to be influenced by falsehood and deceived by deviant thought, it is not permissible for them to expose themselves to trials, especially if the discourse does not benefit the reader. This becomes even clearer if there are Muslims who excel in this field.
