What is the ruling on studying at a non-mixed university where some male professors teach, with the student observing complete hijab, and what are the proofs for that?
There should be segregation between men and women in places of study and the like. However, if there is no mixing, there is no harm, provided Islamic guidelines are observed: no private seclusion (), women covering their entire body including the face, loose clothing, lowering the gaze by both parties, refraining from actions that attract attention, avoiding physical proximity, and refraining from speaking in a soft, alluring manner. It is preferable for female students to study with female teachers, as this is safer and purer. If a female student fears that Islamic guidelines will be violated, it is forbidden for her to attend, even if it means discontinuing her studies.
