What are the reliable books and imams in the Sharia sciences that can be depended upon to receive sound Islamic knowledge free from weakness or fabrication?

Ibn Kathir's Tafsir is one of the best commentaries. In it, Ibn Kathir mentions his chains of narration, clarifies the weakness of certain hadiths, and identifies what is Isra'iliyat (narrations from Jewish traditions). His discourse on tafsir, creed, and rulings is relied upon by scholars. As for "Ihya Ulum al-Din" (Revival of the Religious Sciences), its hadiths were authenticated by Al-Hafiz Al-Iraqi, and it is good in many of the issues it addresses, though there are some observations about it.
