What is the ruling on the hairstyle known as the "pouf" (hair puff) without padding?

The legal ruling on this hairstyle is not clear. However, Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen mentioned that the women whose heads are "like the humps of swaying camels" are those who raise their hair to make it tilted, or wear a turban to elevate the head covering. He stated that gathering hair on top of the head (the bun) falls under the prohibition mentioned in the hadith: "their heads are like the humps of swaying camels." As for hair on the neck, there is no harm in it, unless it is when going out to the market, in which case it is considered a display of adornment (tabarruj) and a temptation, and thus not permissible.
