As a guardian of an orphan, is it permissible for me to pay Zakat on their behalf?

It has been previously established that the correct view among the scholars is that zakat is obligatory on the wealth of a child, whether an orphan or not, and that the guardian of the aforementioned child must pay it if the conditions for its obligation are met. Accordingly, if the sponsor of the said orphan is his legal guardian, then he must pay zakat in this situation if the conditions for its obligation are met.
