The one offering the sacrifice, whether male or female, is required not to cut their hair or nails during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah until they slaughter their sacrifice, based on the hadith of Umm Salamah. They must not slaughter their sacrifice until after the Eid prayer. Among the Sunnahs of sacrifice is that the one offering it should not eat anything before eating from the meat of their sacrifice, and that the meat should be distributed among eating, gifting, and charity. Women and men are equal in all rulings regarding the sacrifice.
