Does prayer become invalid if there are holes in one's garment or socks that do not expose the awrah, or in a woman's lower garment near the foot, while she is wearing a jilbab over it for prayer?

If there are holes in the sock or in an area that is not part of the 'awrah (private parts), the prayer is not invalidated. If the holes are in the 'awrah area but are minor, the prayer is also valid. Jurists have differed regarding the amount of minor exposure that is overlooked. If a woman covers the hole with the bottom of her foot using another garment, her prayer is valid.

It is recommended for the worshiper to wear more than one garment for complete covering and adornment. Hanbali jurists have explicitly stated the recommendation for a man to wear two or more garments. The majority of jurists hold that a woman's feet are part of the 'awrah during prayer, contrary to the Hanafis.
