What should I do or read to overcome myself and my whisperings (waswas), so that I may abandon sins and truly love Allah and sacrifice everything for the sake of Paradise, given my weak personality, resolve, and will?

The path to repentance, uprightness, and attaining Allah's love requires sincere striving against one's self (mujahadat an-nafs), seeking help through supplication and humble entreaty to Allah, maintaining obligatory duties, increasing supererogatory acts, associating with the righteous, persistently reciting the Qur'an with contemplation, and reflecting on Allah's names and attributes, death, and the afterlife. It is recommended to read books such as: "Ad-Daa' wa ad-Dawaa'" (The Disease and the Cure) by Ibn al-Qayyim, "Tahdheeb Madaarij as-Salikeen," "Minhaaj al-Qasideen" or "Maw'idhat al-Mu'mineen" by al-Qasimi, "Haadi al-Arwaah," and "Uluw al-Himmah" (High Aspiration) by Sheikh Muhammad Ismail al-Muqaddim.
