What should one do who spends their time researching and reading about repentance due to remembering their sins and feeling sorrow, while also wishing to expand their study into other fatwas and Islamic topics?

Fear of Allah is a sign of faith and excellence (ihsan), while feeling secure from His cunning (makr) is the characteristic of the losers. The true believer dreads Allah's reckoning. Your fear of your Lord is a good sign, and Allah's guiding you to repentance is a sign of His mercy. Beware of despair and hopelessness, for they are doors through which Satan diverts you from obeying your Lord, and despairing of Allah's mercy is a characteristic of disbelievers. When you feel this way, seek refuge in Allah and seek His protection from Satan. Remember the vastness of His mercy and that His mercy precedes His wrath. Among the greatest remedies for whispers (waswas) is to disregard them and occupy yourself with what benefits, to keep good company, to attend congregational prayers, to recite the Quran with reflection, to maintain remembrance of Allah (dhikr), to listen to Islamic audio lectures, and to seek religious knowledge.
