What is the ruling on practicing sodomy, even once, or intending to do it, or thinking about it?

Sodomy is one of the gravest sins, even if committed once. It is impermissible to even think about it or intend to do it. A person must struggle against their own self (mujahadat al-nafs), seek refuge with Allah from Satan, remember standing before Allah, and that Allah is aware of them at all times. This act brings disgrace and shame in both this world and the Hereafter.
