Is it permissible to supplicate to Allah using phrases that include questions such as: "Will You withhold from me, while You are the Most Generous?", "If You withhold from me, then who will be generous?", and "Will You belie Your Book, while You are the Truth?"?

It is not permissible to address Allah Almighty with impolite words, such as saying: "Will You then be stingy with me, while You are the Most Generous?" or "If You are stingy with me, who then will be generous?" or "Will You then belie it, while You are the Truth?" This is because Allah Almighty gives for a wisdom and withholds for a wisdom, and His withholding is a giving, and His promise is true, and His word is sincere. Supplication is beneficial in all its states, and Allah Almighty may delay the answer for a wisdom. Therefore, one should not be carried away by greed to address Allah in an impermissible manner. Rather, a person should repent, frequently seek forgiveness, and make supplications using the comprehensive, authentically transmitted prayers.
