Is it permissible to supplicate with the following phrases, along with identifying the suitable Divine Names (Asma’ Allah al-Husna) for each supplication: “O Allah, I ask You to make me forget knowledge that did not benefit me but rather harmed me,” “O Allah, do not let me taste the flavor of my own self in my work, but rather enable me to make it purely for Your Noble Face,” “O Allah, make me among those whose hearts You looked upon and found nothing therein but that which pleases You,” and “O Allah, turn the world away from me, for its coming towards me has tempted me”?

There is no harm in supplicating with the mentioned du’as (supplications), as long as they do not involve aggression or severing family ties, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Then let each one of you choose the du’a that he likes most and supplicate with it." Nevertheless, it is better for a Muslim to supplicate with the comprehensive, transmitted du’as found in the Qur’an and Sunnah, such as: "Our Lord, grant us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire," and "O Allah, benefit me with what You have taught me, teach me what will benefit me, and increase me in knowledge." One can also supplicate using Allah's Most Beautiful Names, while noting that there is no evidence that some of His Names possess specific properties.
