What is the ruling on supplicating with the words: "O Allah, grant me (such and such), for You are the Most Generous, the Provider, the Bestower, the Most Compassionate, the Most Gracious, the Giver of Might, the Exalter, the Rich, the Expander, the All-Encompassing, the All-Powerful, the Protecting Friend, the Helper, the Possessor of the Kingdom, the Lord of Majesty and Honor"? And is it contrary to the Sunnah to frequently use the Beautiful Names of Allah in supplication?

There is no objection to supplicating with such a formula, and there is no harm in seeking intercession with Allah by mentioning a number of His beautiful names and exalted attributes in supplication. This is indicated by the Hadith of Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said concerning a man's supplication: "He has supplicated Allah by His Greatest Name, by which if He is invoked, He responds, and if He is asked, He gives." Similarly, the Hadith of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "I ask You by every Name belonging to You with which You have named Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any one of Your creation, or kept exclusively in Your knowledge of the unseen."
