What is the ruling on the prayer of one who prayed towards the wrong Qiblah for a year due to incorrect information, and is she required to make up those prayers?

If the female students did not deviate from facing the Kaaba due to an error in the qibla, then their prayer is valid. However, if they turned completely away from its direction, then the prayer, according to the majority of scholars, is not valid, because an error in facing the qibla in a settled place is not excused by many of them, though some may excuse it if there was a valid reason. So, if the female student they relied upon was not trustworthy or there was negligence, then they must re-pray. But if she was trustworthy and there was no negligence, then there is a difference of opinion regarding the obligation to re-pray. The more cautious approach is to re-pray to avoid the difference of opinion, but if they follow the opinion of those who do not obligate re-prayer, there is no blame upon them.
