What is the ruling on men gathering in the mosque to drink tea, eat sweets, and discuss worldly matters after the Eid prayer?

It is prescribed for Muslims to show joy on Eid in the mosque and to gather therein. There is no objection to this being accompanied by food or drink, provided that the cleanliness of the mosque is maintained and care is taken not to pollute it or cause the accumulation of pests, and to avoid foul odors.

It is also permissible to engage in permissible speech in the mosque, even if it concerns worldly matters, as long as it does not disturb those praying. However, buying and selling and announcing lost items in the mosque must be avoided. As for the hadith, "Speech in the mosque consumes good deeds just as fire consumes firewood," it has no basis.
