What is meant by "fornication" in the Hadith: "There are four whom Allah detests... among them, the elderly fornicator"—is it actual or metaphorical fornication?

The aforementioned Hadith, narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), speaks of three types of people whom Allah will not address on the Day of Resurrection, nor purify them, nor look at them, and for whom there will be a painful torment: an old man who commits adultery, a lying king, and a proud destitute person. The reason for this severe threat is that each of them committed the mentioned sin despite there being no necessity for it. Their action resembles defiance and disrespect towards Allah's right. The old man who commits adultery does so despite the weakness of his lustful desires in his old age, which distinguishes him from a young man who might be driven by lust and lack of knowledge. The apparent meaning of the Hadith is that what is intended is actual adultery, and this does not mean that metaphorical adultery is permissible, as both are forbidden.
