Is it permissible to copy and sell computer discs on which "copyrights reserved" is written, at a symbolic price, knowing that their real price is very high? And does Islamic law recognize intellectual property rights, following the example of the early Muslims in spreading knowledge?

It is not permissible to copy discs whose owners stipulate that their copyrights are reserved, except with their permission, nor is it permissible to use them. And the fact that Muslims were the first to make a computer — which is incorrect — does not justify infringing upon the rights of others that are legally protected.
