What is the husband's repentance in the case of mutual imprecation (li'an) with his wife?

The husband's lying to his wife and accusing her through li'an while he is untruthful is a grave sin and a tremendous transgression. However, Allah has opened the door of repentance for His servants. The repentance of the lying husband is for him to admit his lie and say: "I lied in what I accused her of." As for the wife returning to her husband after li'an, this is not possible, for the separation between them is perpetual.
