Is it true that among the signs of the End of Time is the disappearance of the Qur'an, and how does this reconcile with the presence of so many memorizers of the Qur'an?

There are Hadiths indicating that the Qur’an will be lifted at the end of time, such that it will be taken away at night, leaving no verse in the Mushaf (physical copy) or in people’s hearts. People will become bereft of the Qur’an and will forget "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah).

This lifting occurs when people become corrupt, abandon Allah’s commands, and alter the true religion. Then, Allah will bring forth a creature that speaks to them, informing them that people did not believe firmly in Allah’s signs.

Before the Hour is established, Allah will take the souls of the believers, and only the wicked will remain. There will be no prayer, no fasting, no Hajj, and no charity. The Qur’an will be lifted because Allah is too jealous to let His book remain useless and unacted upon. This should motivate Muslims to care for the Qur’an before it is lifted.
