What should a 22-year-old do, who lives with his harsh and miserly father, and stole money from his father, then swore falsely upon the Quran, then confessed to his father and regretted his action, but his father did not forgive him, which caused him to feel remorse, introversion, and a sense of God's displeasure with him?

A son's eagerness to please his father is a religious obligation, for honoring one's parents is a duty, even if they are disbelievers. Repentance is required for swearing a false oath. If a father does not spend on his son who is poor or unable to earn a living, the son is permitted to take from his father's wealth what suffices him and his child, in a reasonable manner. He is not obligated to return the money. He must treat his father kindly and try to win his affection.
