What is the ruling on being named Tabarak?

It is not permissible to use the name "Tabarak" for other than Allah the Almighty, because it is an attribute exclusive to Him, glory be to Him. Its meaning is the abundance of good and blessings originating from Him. It is a static verb (fi'l jamid) specific to Allah, from which no present tense, infinitive, or active participle can be derived. Furthermore, He (Glorified and Exalted be He) is "Al-Mubarak" (The Blessed), and His servant and messenger is "mubarak" (blessed).
