What is the Sharia solution for a son whose mother refuses to let him marry and threatens to leave him if he goes ahead with it?
The solution to your problem is to present your mother to specialist doctors for treatment, as she is ill and needs treatment. Nevertheless, be dutiful to her, treat her kindly, and supplicate for her. Her opposition is not an impediment to your marriage, and it is not aneous to marry despite her disapproval. You may delay if she begins treatment and doctors inform you of her imminent recovery. However, if doctors inform you that her recovery will be delayed or that it is uncertain whether she will recover, then proceed with the marriage away from your mother's sight, and do not allow her to witness your wedding. Beware of bringing her and your wife together before she recovers from her illness.
