Is working with sound technology in a media organization that involves filming concerts, plays, and musical performances permissible (halal) or forbidden (haram)? And is the money earned from this work permissible (halal) or forbidden (haram)? Is it permissible to give it to one's mother for Hajj? Can it be purified? And is it permissible to remain in this job until another job is found?

Your current work involves preparing reports that contain unlawful elements—such as music and immodestly dressed women—which makes you a partner in sin. This falls under cooperating in sin and aggression, which is forbidden in Islamic law.

We advise you to seek a permissible field within the same job, even if it is outside your specialization, or to leave the job if that is not possible, seeking your reward from Allah. For whoever fears Allah, He will make a way out for him and provide for him from where he does not expect.

Regarding the money previously earned: If you were unaware of the impermissibility of the work, then the money is lawful for you. However, if you knew of its impermissibility, you must estimate the proportion of the unlawful earnings and spend it on charitable causes, and you may benefit from the rest. There is no harm in giving your mother from this money for Hajj, as money earned unlawfully is forbidden only for the earner, not for the one to whom it is transferred.
