What is the ruling on the situation that occurred with the Imam and the old woman, and was what I said correct? And what do I owe the Imam?

The Imam erred by alienating the questioner from performing good deeds and by lying in his claim of a complaint about transporting the Sheikh. The questioner is advised to continue assisting the Sheikh, while gently and kindly explaining the situation to the Imam, maintaining proper decorum in addressing him, and not spreading what occurred, in preservation of the Imam's sanctity.
