ما الفرق بين الاستفهام والاستفسار والسؤال؟

Inquiry (istifsar), seeking understanding (istifham), and questioning (su'al) differ in meaning. Inquiry (istifsar) is the request for clarification of the intended meaning of an ambiguous word. Seeking understanding (istifham) is the request for the attainment of comprehension and knowledge of something. As for questioning (su'al), it may come to mean a request, just as it may come to mean an inquiry. Accordingly, inquiry (istifsar) is more appropriate for words, seeking understanding (istifham) is more appropriate for meanings, and questioning (su'al) is more general than both.
