Is it permissible for a veiled nurse to uncover her forearms up to the elbows in an area mixed with sterilization and operating rooms, out of necessity for work after sterilization, knowing that she is fifty years old and works due to life circumstances?

The forearms of a woman are considered 'awrah (parts that must be covered) according to the majority of scholars, and it is not permissible to uncover them. However, some jurists from the Hanafi school, such as Ibn Abidin, quoting Abu Yusuf, permitted uncovering them out of necessity when performing work, like cooking or baking, allowing the viewing of the forearm and elbow for this need. Similarly, jurists have permitted uncovering them out of necessity or need for medical treatment, provided that the uncovering is limited to the extent of the need and that what is not needed to be uncovered remains covered. Al-Qaffal stated in his fatwas: "She must wrap a cloth around her hand and uncover only the amount that is absolutely necessary for venesection." Based on this, if no other work is available, there is no harm in continuing with the forearms uncovered when there is a need, such as for sterilization.
