The answer

The meaning of divine grace (tawfiq) revolves around inspiring and facilitating good, and it may be more general than that, encompassing the good of both this world and the Hereafter. The path to divine grace in both realms is through righteous deeds, as Allah the Almighty says: "Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do." (An-Nahl: 97). A good life includes comfort, lawful sustenance, contentment, happiness, and performing acts of obedience. The servant is aided in this by supplication, showing his need for Allah, and seeking His help. Among the helpful supplications is: "O Allah, help me to remember You, to thank You, and to worship You in the best manner."
