What is the ruling on a husband residing with a homosexual person in the same dwelling, and eating of his food, given the husband's knowledge of his deviancy and his practice of indecency within the home? And does the husband incur sin if this person helps him with family reunification procedures?
If it is confirmed that the man is a homosexual, then cohabiting with him is not permissible, because it is evil and a tribulation. Your husband must avoid him and separate from him, especially if he is a disbeliever, based on the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "I am free of any Muslim who resides among the polytheists," and also his saying: "Their two fires should not be seen [together]." The Permanent Committee has prohibited residing with a polytheist and showing loyalty to him. However, eating his food is permissible unless there is a legitimate impediment, and similarly, seeking his help in procedures [is permissible], though if it is possible to achieve that with someone else, it is more preferable.
