What is the ruling on a woman seeking divorce from her husband whom she cannot tolerate, despite her attempts to live with him, and is she sinful for doing so or for delaying the request for divorce?

Her family committed a great sin by forcing her to marry someone she dislikes. She has the right to annul the marriage if she was coerced. It is advisable to be patient and try to mend the marital relationship for the sake of the children. However, if she cannot bear the patience, then she is permitted to seek divorce or khul'. It is not permissible for a woman to refuse her husband's bed or to tell him that she dislikes him, as this hurts his feelings and violates the Shari'ah's command to treat the husband with kindness.
