The answer

Abrogation (Naskh) is the lifting of a Sharia ruling by a subsequent Sharia discourse. It is a matter of divine revelation (Tawqifi), and the abrogator (Nasikh) is Allah and His Messenger, peace be upon him. No one can claim the abrogation of a Sharia ruling except with a clear statement from the Qur'an or Sunnah. Abrogation only occurred during the time of the Prophet, peace be upon him. The Ummah has unanimously agreed that there is no abrogation after his death and the establishment of the Sharia. Abrogation cannot occur through intellect or consensus.
