Do abundant secretions resulting from the insertion of an IUD invalidate Wudu and Salah? And must they be purified before every Salah?
The ruling on inserting an IUD to prevent pregnancy and the resulting disturbance in the menstrual cycle has been previously explained. As for the profuse discharge, if it ceases for a period long enough to perform ablution (wudu) and prayer (salat), then one must wait for its cessation, then perform ablution and pray. However, if the discharge is continuous such that it does not stop for a period long enough to perform ablution and prayer, then it falls under the ruling of سلس ( سلس البول - سلس الريح - سلس الدم - سلس المذي ) - continuous discharge, and one must perform ablution for each prayer after its time has begun, taking precautions with a cloth or similar, and what flows during the prayer does not invalidate it.
