The supplication upon entering a village, narrated by Suhayb, may Allah be pleased with him, is: "(O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and what they overshadow, and Lord of the seven earths and what they sustain, and Lord of the devils and what they mislead, and Lord of the winds and what they scatter, we ask You for the good of this village and the good of its people, and we seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of its people and the evil of what is in it)." This hadith has been graded as good (Hasan) and authentic (Sahih) by a number of scholars. This supplication is recited upon entering any place where people gather in dwellings and buildings, whether it is a village or a city. It involves beseeching Allah by His Lordship over everything, asking Him for good, and seeking refuge in Him from evil.
