The answer

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade turning away from one another and mutual hatred, and prohibited a Muslim from deserting his brother for more than three days. Enmity and malice are dispraised in Islamic law, especially if their cause is a difference in temperaments, opinions, and customs. To get rid of this malice, one should seek refuge with Allah from Satan, and be a good companion to one's brother by greeting him with peace, shaking his hand, offering him gifts, enjoining good upon him and forbidding evil gently and wisely, countering Satan's evil prayers with prayers for good for one's brother, and initiating kind words, even if it feels forced. Courtesy reduces animosity and accustoms hearts to harmony and love.
