It is not permissible to perform an abortion definitively, except out of a necessity recognized by , such that a trustworthy Muslim doctor determines that the pregnancy poses a definite or probable danger to the mother's life, or causes her an unbearable hardship normally, and there is no other way to temporarily prevent pregnancy. The procedure must be performed by a Muslim female doctor if available.
