This narration originates from Sahih Muslim, Musnad Ahmad, Sunan an-Nasa'i, Sunan Abi Dawud, and other books of Hadith. There is no mention in it indicating that the suckling was from a vessel and not from the breast. Imam al-Nawawi said in his commentary on Sahih Muslim: "Regarding his (peace be upon him) saying: 'Suckle him,' al-Qadi said: 'Perhaps she milked it (her breast milk) and he drank it without her breast touching him or their skin coming into contact.' What al-Qadi said is good. It is also possible that touching was pardoned out of necessity, just as suckling was specifically allowed for an adult."
