Is it permissible for a Muslim who intended to pray Dhuhr behind the Imam of Asr, then stood up to pray Asr, to be led by another worshiper who started late to complete his prayer?

The man performed two disputed issues: his praying Dhuhr behind someone praying 'Asr, which is permissible according to the most preponderant opinion, and his following someone who is a latecomer (masbuq), which is not advisable initially. However, if one does so, their prayer is valid due to the existence of scholarly difference. Therefore, the prayer is valid in the mentioned case.
