Is a mother obligated to attend family gatherings that include singing and music, to avoid cutting off family ties, knowing that she might displease Allah?

A Muslim is not permitted to accept an invitation that includes reprehensible acts such as music and intermingling, unless the mother intends to denounce them and believes it is highly probable that thehensible acts will cease. If the mother is aware of the reprehensible acts but neither sees nor hears them, then it is permissible for her to attend and sit, provided that her attendance is at a time when the reprehensible acts are not occurring, or in a place where she does not witness them.
