Is the primary donor entitled to prevent the rebuilding of the mosque he donated, despite the villagers' desire to build a new mosque?

It is permissible to demolish an old mosque and renovate or expand it if there is a need to do so, after obtaining the approval of the officials in the Awqaf (Endowments) department. The reward of the initial endower is not cut off by the renovation of the mosque, because he will receive the reward for what he intended. The reference point for this is the directors of the Awqaf; if they decide to demolish and rebuild it, they have the authority to do so.
