Who are the family, relatives, and kin, and what is the difference among them?

These terms have similar meanings. A man's "ahl" refers to his wife, children, and those who share a residence, lineage, or religion with him. "Aqarib" are relatives connected by blood ties from any side. "Arham" specifically refers to maternal relatives, or generally to all relatives regardless of their origin.
